On July 15, 2026, Mr. James Fisher, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, led an Australian delegation to CDI. Dr. Liu Guohong, President of CDI, received the delegation and shared insights on Shenzhen’s economic development. In the early days of reform and opening up, benefiting from the concentration of production factors and existing international benchmarks, Shenzhen's manufacturing and foreign trade flourished, and its economy entered a phase of rapid growth. In recent years, Shenzhen is steadily advancing the transformation of its industrial structure and entering a stage of development driven by technological innovation. In the future, Shenzhen will continue to play a leading and exemplary role in China’s economic development and transformation.

On March 25, 2026, a COMEXI delegation led by Director General Alejandra López de Alba Gómez visited CDI. Discussions centered on China’s economic growth, the development pathway and model of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, and Sino-Mexico economic relations against the current geoeconomic backdrop.The exchange offered a valuable window into how subnational innovation hubs can shape national development strategies. Both sides also explored potential synergies in trade, investment, and technology transfer, underscoring the mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation beyond traditional manufacturing linkages.
